Who We Are at Young Dragons
At Young Dragons CIC, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. For the past 15 years, we have been at the forefront of enterprise education in South West Wales, helping young people build an enterprising mindset through creative, hands-on learning. Our mission is to equip young learners with essential entrepreneurial skills such as creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
Founded by Sue Poole and Kathryn David, Young Dragons CIC has evolved into a leading organisation that bridges the gap between education and business. Both Sue and Kathryn have been instrumental in shaping the vision and driving our success. With extensive experience in education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement, they are committed to fostering innovation and resilience in young people.
In addition to our work with children, Young Dragons CIC have supported emerging young entrepreneurs through the Swansea Seed Pod initiative. This program provided vital support to young startups, offering grants, industry mentoring, and guidance from business professionals. Through the Swansea Seed Pod, we have helped young innovators turn their ideas into successful businesses by giving them access to financial support, expert advice, and a network of industry connections. This holistic approach ensures that these budding entrepreneurs had the tools and confidence to thrive in the competitive business landscape.
Our unique approach includes workshops, competitions, and interactive learning experiences that provide young learners with real-world problem-solving experiences. In addition to our core programs, Young Business Dragons and Swansea Enterprise Challenge we are proud of our latest project, Futurescape, a collaboration with Raven Delta and Cyfle. This initiative introduces students in years 6 and 7 to career opportunities in sustainable buildings, construction, engineering, and electrical industries. By using cutting-edge technologies and interactive methods, we aim to shift perceptions, empower students, and support teachers and parents in guiding the next generation towards sustainable career paths.
Over the past 15 years, we have earned recognition for our innovative programs and partnerships. We are dedicated to continuing our work with local schools, businesses, and communities to inspire future generations of leaders. Whether through our flagship workshops or exciting new initiatives, we are committed to creating a brighter, more enterprising future for the children of South West Wales.
